Motorised curtains open and close on a remote, a phone, a schedule or a voice command. The motor sits at the end of an S-fold track, runs on a rechargeable battery, and moves the curtain smoothly and quietly. No wiring, no electrician.
We supply new motorised tracks with your curtains, measured and fitted in Melbourne or shipped DIY. If you already have S-fold curtains, the retrofit curtain motor in our DIY shop fits most tracks and you can install it yourself.
How curtain motors work
The motor drives a belt or cord inside the track that pulls the lead glider along. The curtain follows. The battery is built in and charges with a USB-C cable, so there is no power point needed at the window and most people charge a few times a year depending on use. A handheld remote controls one curtain or a group, and a smart hub adds app and voice control.
Wired motors exist for large commercial spans, but for a home, battery is simpler and cleaner.
Retrofit motors for existing S-fold tracks
If your curtains already hang on an S-fold track, you may not need new curtains or a new track. Our retrofit S-fold curtain motor is designed to work with existing S-fold tracks, and we can check yours from a photo before you order. The motor, remote and charging cable come in the box with fitting instructions.
Smart home control
Add a Bond Bridge hub and the motors connect to your home Wi-Fi. From there you control the curtains from your phone, set schedules so the sheers open in the morning and the blockouts close at dusk, and use voice through Google Home, Alexa or Apple Home. The hub also runs our roller blind motors, so blinds and curtains work from one app.
Where motorised curtains make sense
Wide spans of glass where a heavy curtain is a job to draw by hand. Tall windows and stairwells where you cannot reach the fabric. Bedrooms where you want the blockout closed on a timer. Living rooms where the sheer and the blockout on a double track should move separately, each on its own motor and channel. And any home where the chains and cords of blinds are a child-safety concern, because a motorised track has neither.

Measuring for motorised curtains
For new curtains, measure as for any S-fold: track width past the window, drop from the track to the floor, ceiling or wall fix. Allow room at one end of the track for the motor housing. For a retrofit motor, send us a photo of the track end and profile and we confirm the fit.

Do motorised curtains need an electrician?
No. Our curtain motors run on a built-in rechargeable battery charged by USB-C. Hardwired motors are an option for large commercial spans.
Can I motorise my existing curtains?
If they hang on an S-fold track, usually yes with our retrofit curtain motor. Rods and hook tracks generally need a new track. Send us a photo and we will confirm.
How do I control motorised curtains?
With the handheld remote as standard. Add a Bond Bridge hub for phone control, schedules and voice through Google Home, Alexa or Apple Home.
Can a sheer and a blockout on a double track be motorised separately?
Yes. Each track gets its own motor on its own remote channel, so you can move one without the other.
Can I buy a curtain motor online?
